Battlesbury Hill (near Warminster) ST898465 (Map 184)

South Wilts Walk (Butterfly Recognition): This is an ancient hill fort, situated on the edge of the MOD Salisbury Plain Training Area and north of Warminster.
Target Species: Spring butterflies including possible Duke of Burgundy
Location: From the Market Street/Station Road/East Street roundabout, take the East Street exit, then take the first left turn turn into Imber Road. Continue over the railway bridge, past the housing estate, until you come to the MOD fenced area at the crest of the hill. Turn round by the (armoured) tank ST 898 465 (Map 184) and park by the footpath, on your left.
