Marbled Clover

Description
The paler of the two rare Clover moths, the Marbled Clover lacks the two spots just behind the head of the Shoulder-striped Clover. Also the two cross bands are narrower and the brown colour of the wings is lighter. 

Flight Period
June to August. 

Laval Foodplants
Varied including red clover, chicory and wild carrot, eating just the unripe seed heads and the flowers. 

Habitat
Wild flower chalk downland, disturbed calcerous ground and set aside farmland. 

Wiltshire Status
Red Data Book species, breeding locally in the County.
