Mother Shipton

Description
This small brown moth is named after the 17th Century Yorkshire mystic Mother Shipton, a likeness of whose hook-nosed face can be seen on each forewing. It can be mistaken for a butterfly as it flits from flower to flower in sunshine.

Downland, grassland, verges.
