Virtually all these records come from a 500m length of inter-crop headland. On a warm sunny afternoon the abundant marjoram and other native wildflowers were heaving with inumerable butterflies, which were all very mobile so accurate figures hard to assess so these are a significant underestimate. These figures give the picture in terms of comparative proportions though.
