 11.30 - 13.30. Gorgeous. Warm sun, cotton-wool clouds, and flowers everywhere - cattle not on the slopes yet. Far fewer G than in Pewsey area the day before - wonder why, the slopes are superficially similar. A few MF caterpillar nests seen - seed heads of the stemless thistles are shedding which makes it quite hard - with 4th instar caterpillars basking in the sun (photo uploaded). Only downside is seeing Autumn gentians out and, on Hadden Hill, Autumn Ladies Tresses. Arghhh - the end of the season approaches.
