13.30 - 14.30. Looks to have been an influx of ClYs - also saw 3 (+ 1 PL) in a lucerne-rich conservation strip near Huish (at SU142636). Have you ever stroked a Humming-bird Hawk-moth? Well I have! The three I saw were all feeding from the same woolly thistle plant, and were so intent on what they were doing that I was able to stroke one of them as it fed on-the-wing. Brilliant!
