A disappointing walk with only 1.5 butterflies per transect section. It was very warm and not that windy especially compared to Ravensroost yesterday when we saw twice as many butterflies in about half the distance. To me it demonstrates the advantage of scalloping woodland rides rather than just making them wider - as is done at Somerford Common where they tend to become wind tunnets.
