Sighting

13-09-2018

10.15 - 11.45. I mainly stuck to main south-east facing slope. Still lots on the wing on Thursday. One fresh ClY flying vigorously across the slope, the other rather worn and feeble in flight. No prizes for guessing which I was able to photograph! SCs everywhere, favouring knapweeds as nectar source, and particularly frequent around the rabbit scrapes near the top of the slope, dropping to the bare soil and its residual radiant heat whenever the sun went behind the clouds and the temperature took a sharp drop. MBs include one mating pair.
