10 - 11.30. Numbers refer to those seen in unit 3 and 4 of the SSSI - also walked through unit 1 and saw a few ChB and 2 ClY amongst other butterflies. Di not make it to unit 2. I have never seen such a concentration of Humming-bird Hawk-moths - saw 4 and 5 respectively feeding at the same time on two clumps of thistles, as well as several singletons. Saw circa 30 CBs before my first ChB - was starting to get a bit worried that there would not be any, but eventually found my way to where they were concentrated.
