13.30 - 14.30. Both dingy skippers I saw today (Bulford Down and Warren Hill) were on the small side, and rather pale. When they settled they immediately folded back their wings in a way they rarely do when on the wing earlier in the year, presumably because of the strong sun/heat, and they were very flightly, becoming disturbed and chasing low t the ground after anything and everything that approached. My first reaction at Bulford was that I was seeing a silver spotted skipper, and for a while I was quite excited at the thought they might have a presence there - the terrain and vegetation has some similarities with that around Warren Hill. Eventually I got close enough to be sure it was a dingy skipper. I suppose I shouldn't be disappointed, a second generation dingy skipper is not to be sniffed at, but truth be, I was,
