 11-12.30. What. A. Day. Simply gorgeous. The sort of day whose memory keeps you going through the winter months (see my 18/03/26 observations). Lots of butterflies too, to share it with. 10 species, a humming-bird hawkmoth and a couple of vestals. First vestal seen early on near SU072326. Male, I think, and rather faded, maybe an immigrant (photo uploaded). WB seen near SU037330 - I think I have only even seen one before doing this walk. Another vestal seen later on the way out of Grovely later in the day, just a few feet from where the first was seen. This one a beautiful fresh male (photo uploaded). Finally, descending into Dithampton another WB seen near SU089317.
