 10.15 - 11.30. Very few nectar sources - didn't see a single Devil's Bit flowerhead all visit. AB sightings included single ab. Krodeli. Unusual sighting was a Spiked Shieldbug (Picromerus bidens) impale a fox moth caterpillar, reverse up a hawthorn stem dragging the caterpillar with its proboscis, and proceed to suck it dry. Impressive strength! Presumably the tactic has the effect of preventing the caterpillar from getting traction and marching off, as it was alive during the whole episode. Photo uploaded.
