11 - 12.50. Usual walk from Heytesbury wood to Norton Bavant gate, along lower slopes. Rather overcast, and little on the wing. Most butterflies seen were on the ground. The grass on the slopes has a widespread under carpet of Horseshoe Vetch - glorious, never seen so much. Certainly set off nicely the Adonis Blues that were settled, open-winged. My first MB of the year.
